There’s something awesome about green cookies made without gross food colouring—especially ones containing lemon and basil. While the pairing may seem odd, this blend of flavours is totally sweet.
Lemon basil cookies were one of six types of cookies offered this weekend by the vegan bakery In the Oven at the Baker’s Market in Vancouver. We also walked away with lime cookies, chocolate peanut butter cookies, and snickerdoodles.
Bakers Erica Van Driel and Sami Rix were selling these treats in bags of three. One bag cost $3 and two bags went for $5. Customers buying four bags of cookies got In the Oven tote bags.
In the Oven can be found at the Baker’s Market every Saturday until December 8. The market takes place at the Moberly Arts & Cultural Centre (7646 Prince Albert Street) in the Sunset neighbourhood.
